Instead of doing the usual thing at the end of a week's stay in Basse Normandie - driving straight through Cherbourg to get quickly onto the ferry, my wife and I thought we'd spend a couple of days having a look at the north Cotentin peninsular. In Le Manoir de La Fieffe, we picked a wonderful place to stay. Michel and Emmanuel were the perfect hosts - generous but discreet, and happy to discuss with us any recommendation they could make to inform our short stay. We duly explored - by car - the Cap de la Hague and found it so interesting and so beautiful. We were frustrated that we didn't have longer so we could have walked the coastal path. The Manoir itself is very impressive, giving a grand sense of space and history, and it is set in wonderful grounds, reflecting the history of this important house. Inside, it is spacious, and the decor has been confidently chosen to balance comfort with style, and the old with the ultra new. We loved it and our only regret is not having booked fewer nights in Honfeur so that we could have stayed much longer in Le Manoir de La Fieffe...

Eigenlijk alles: heel ruime luxueuze kamer met uitstekend bed. Grote badkamer met douche en bad. Ontbijt was op zijn Frans, maar met zoveel zorg voor details. Elke dag andere verse fruitsla en specialiteiten van bakker. De B&B is heel rustig gelegen in groene omgeving. Er zijn veel folders en boeken beschikbaar over de streek en de eigenaars helpen je graag aan ideeën.

My words can not adequately describe the idyllic setting of this inn. The landscape is what one would imagine of a French country farmhouse with beautiful green regional flora and the magnificent color of hydrangeas. The building itself is a 16th century home with all of the up to date modern amenities one would expect in a fine hotel. The home is immaculately appointed with period pieces of furniture and very beautifully decorated. We had 3 people in our party and lodged in a two bedroom suite. It was very spacious with a beautiful private bath.  Not a single detail is overlooked. English speaking guests will feel very much at home. The intent of our stay was to visit the D-Day beaches. This location was excellent for this purpose. On a final note, we were most impressed with the kindness and gracious hospitality extended to us by the inn keepers and the general population of Normandy. What a special place it is. We will never forget.

Wir haben 5 Tage hier verbracht, und "excellent" trifft es noch am besten. Das Anwesen aus dem 16. Jahrhundert ist geschmackvoll restauriert, umgeben von einem Garten mit herrlichen Pflanzen, eigentlich müßte man Park sagen.Die Einrichtung ist geschmackvoll und hochwertig gewählt, diskrete Eleganz ohne Aufdringlichkeit. Antiquitäten prägen das Bild, mit viel Sachverstand ausgewählt. Bettwaren und Handtücher sind ebenso wie die Matratze des sehr großen Bettes hochwertig. Alles strahlt vor Sauberkeit. Nicht zuletzt müssen die Gastgeber erwähnt sein, die mit großer Gastfreundschaft, Aufmerksamkeit und Freundlichkeit zu einem gelungenen Aufenthalt sehr beigetragen haben. Wenn wir wieder ins Cotentin kommen, dann sicher hierher. Danke an Michel und Emmanuel."

Das Haus und das Anwesen sind sehr sauber und gepflegt, und die Pflanzenwelt ein Traum. Die Vermieter sind sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Wir hatten jeden Morgen frische Backwaren an der Tür hängen ,die wir den Abend vorher bei Emmanuel entweder pers. oder über whatsapp bestellt haben. Es waren 14 Tage Erholung pur. We enjoyed the cottage and surroundings spent every evening there rather than eating out. Good location for visiting the Normandy beaches Bayeux and all the coastal regions of the Contentin Peninsular. Le Mont St Michel two hour drive away. Quiet spot spent lots of the evenings in the gardens. I would definitely recommend this property.

In this gite located in the beautiful manor of La Fieffe and sheltered by beautiful ferns, you are welcomed with great kindness by Emmanuel and Michel, the owners of the place. There is absolutely nothing missing in this beautiful gîte, excellent bedding; the bathroom and kitchen have everything you need. And in the park, benches welcome you for a moment of reading or rest. An undeniable value for money with the added bonus of peace and quiet. An address to remember and recommend. The owners are always available and give good advice. Finally the region is of great beauty and the nature, seaside or countryside is magnificent. A region to be visited and travelled absolutely.
